Middle Tennessee State University, a Division I member of Conference USA, sponsors 17 intercollegiate athletic programs. MTSU is located in Murfreesboro, TN and is approximately 30 minutes from Nashville, TN.
The Sports Medicine Department at Middle Tennessee State University is currently seeking qualified applicants for two Associate Athletic Trainer positions. Both positions will report to the Associate Athletic Director of Sports Medicine. Each position will assist in the daily operations of the athletic training room including all aspects of medical health care for their assigned sport as well as assisting with administrative duties and overseeing the interns assigned to each sport.
1. Associate Athletic Trainer — Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field
Primary sport assignments:
Men’s and Women’s Cross Country
Men’s and Women’s Track & Field
This position will serve as the lead athletic trainer for all four programs.
Current salary: $60,000 annually
Administrative responsibilities: Minimal
Staffing support:
Fall: Supported by one intern athletic trainer
Spring: Supported by one intern athletic trainer and an additional assistant athletic trainer
Our current rosters primarily consist of runners and jumpers. At this time, the programs do not have throwers or pole vaulters.
2. Associate Athletic Trainer — Football
Primary sport assignment: Football
Salary: $60,000 annually
This individual will work alongside another associate athletic trainer, an assistant athletic trainer, and two intern athletic trainers to support the Associate Director of Sports Medicine in providing comprehensive healthcare services for the MTSU football program

- Bachelor’s degree required. Master's Degree preferred
- Two (2) to four (4) years of progressively responsible Division I Athletic Training experience
- NATABOC Certification
- Eligible for Tennessee Licensure
- Current CPR/AED certification
- CSCS, CES, and/or PES, Dry Needling Certifications preferred
