    Description

    Delta State University is currently accepting applications for Assistant Athletic Trainer positions. Delta State is a member of the Gulf South Conference in NCAA Division II scholarship athletics, hosts 13 Varsity sports, and located in Cleveland, MS. Positions are 12-month full-time paid appointments with benefits.

    Responsibilities

    Athletic Trainers will assist with the planning, organization, coordination, and management of healthcare to intercollegiate student-athletes. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the operation of the athletic training facility, facilitating prevention programs, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. The Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary athletic trainer for the team(s) to which they are assigned, will be responsible for all medical coverage for these teams, and may be assigned some administrative duties by the Head Athletic Trainer. Possible primary sport assignments are Soccer, Basketball, Football,  or Softball. Placement will be determined during the interview and based off applicant background, personal preference, and current staff appointments. This position offers the opportunity for team coverage in intercollegiate athletics, athletic training room operation experience, exposure to administrative duties, and close interaction with the team physician.

Delta State Sports Medicine will cover all employee expenses regarding state licensure/renewal, BOC certification/renewal, and NATA membership/renewal. Assistance for CEUs are provided. All full-time employees are eligible for tuition assistance that amounts to 6 free term hours a semester. Delta State offers several post-graduate degrees including doctoral education concentrations, graduate level sport management, and business degrees among many more. Tuition assistance is available for spouse or children. Athletic trainers also receive some professional clothing from the department. 



    Requirements

    • Bachelors/Masters degree from an Accredited Athletic Training Education Program
    • BOC Certified
    • Mississippi State Licensure or eligible
    • First Aid/CPR Certified
