Department of Athletics - Sports Medicine
Responsibilities
Responsible for daily injury assessment, care, treatment, rehabilitation, and necessary medical referrals for all Women's Basketball athletes. Provides medical coverage for all practices, regular season, and post-season home and away games. Responsible for daily operations of the Basketball Training Center and Tucker Civic Center Athletic Training Facilities.
Athletic Training oversight of other Olympic sports and administrative duties as assigned by the Assoc Athletics Director of Health & Performance
Maintains working relationships and open communication with administration, sports medicine director, coaching staff, team physicians, and other outside healthcare professionals.
Responsible to conduct and ensure CPR compliance of all sports medicine staff and undergraduate athletic training students. Coordinates and oversees medical coverage for all Softball NCAA events hosted in Tallahassee.
Responsible for appropriate documentation of student-athlete medical records in Injury Zone and ensures all documentation is maintained in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, State of Florida, and FSU Sports Medicine policies. Will maintain professional continuing education units and professional credentialing/licensing as outlined by the NATA and State of Florida laws.
Qualifications
- Master's degree and one year of experience; or a Bachelor's degree and three years of experience. (Note: higher education may substitute at an equivalent rate.)
- Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
- CPR and First Aid Certified, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
