Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer details
A stipend of $10,000 for 10 months is provided and possible contract labor in fall for extra compensation. Tuition and fee waiver for up to six (6) hours of graduate school. There are scholarships based on GPA that could cover full tuition. 1 or 2 year degree plans available.
Intern Athletic Trainer details
A stipend of $15,000 for 10 months is provided and possible contract labor in fall for extra compensation.
Job Description:
Coordinate and deliver athletic training services to various collegiate athletes/teams. Coverage of home/away practice/games will be expected including but not limited to holidays. Manage, organize, and maintain athletic training room, equipment, supplies and inventory. Refer injured athletes to appropriate health care providers. Maintain computerized injury, treatment, incident, insurance, and medication forms and/or databases.
Perform other duties not specifically stated but deemed essential by the Director of Sports Medicine or Director of Athletics.
Angelo State University has a current staff of 5 full time athletic trainers. Graduate assistants/Interns have flexible hours, full autonomy of their teams, and no summer requirements. We have a sports medicine team including our medical director, 4 orthopedic physicians, and 3 physical therapist that are on site.
Sport assignment has not been determined at this time.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field
Obtain athletic training license from Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
BOC certified or eligible Admission into ASU graduate school
