College Athletic Trainers' Society

PRIMARY DUTY: The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in conducting all activities relating to the athletic training facility affiliated with the athletics department at Northwest Missouri State University.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manages the total well-being of student-athletes including injury care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation
• Supervises practices and competitions as appropriate within the athletics program
•  Supervises graduate assistant athletic trainers as appropriate
• Assists with program administration including pre-participation screening, insurance claims management and other appropriate record keeping
• Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with other duties as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education: Athletic Training Degree

      Certification/License: BOC Certified Athletic Trainer; Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Missouri

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education: Master’s Degree
