    Description

    Women's Soccer/ Men's & Women's Track & Field: This is a full-time, 12-month position(s), with the primary responsibility being all medical and healthcare needs for women's soccer and track & field(excluding cross-country).  Position requires daily practice coverage, game coverage, in-season travel for women's soccer (including weekends and holidays). Travel may be required occasionally for in-season meets and Atlantic Sun conference track championships.  

    MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Treat athletes under the direction of a physician and only treat within their scope of expertise.
    • Coverage of daily practices to include set-up, treatments, and preventative care
    • Contact physicians for direction of care when needed
    • Travel during the in-season with assigned sport/team, holidays and weekends not excluded
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of injuries
    • Provide athletic training services for all athletic contests for assigned sport/team
    • Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with Lipscomb University Athletics Institutional Drug testing of the student athletes
    • Assist the Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer as needed
    • Assist with pre-participation sports physicals
    • Provide coaches and athletic director with a list of athletes medically eligible to compete under NCAA rules and regulations
    • Maintain student-athlete confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice and Lipscomb University
    • Adhere to Elite Sports Medicine policy manual
    • Maintain Athletic Training licensure in the state of Tennessee and at the national level through NATA BOC
    • Attend CPR, OSHA and other related training programs
    • Attend all regular staff and team meetings
    • Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by Head Athletic Trainer

    Requirements

    EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited university required
    • Master’s Degree in Athletic Training preferred
    • Certification as an Athletic Trainer through NATA BOC
    • Licensure as an Athletic Trainer through the State of Tennessee
    • Minimum of two years of experience as an Athletic Trainer; experience as an ATC in a collegiate setting is preferred; experience as an ATC at a Division 1 collegiate program is highly preferred
    • CPR certification required
    • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations regarding athletics
    • Professional appearance and demeanor
    • Positive attitude and outgoing personality
    • Microsoft Office proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word)
    • Interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
    • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to effectively handle difficult people and problems in a calm and professional manner
    • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
    • Ability to multi-task and perform patient education duties
