Boston University’s Athletic Training Services is seeking highly motivated individuals grounded in evidence-based practice for the position of Resident Athletic Trainer. The Resident Athletic Trainer will be responsible for delivering athletic training services to a varied patient population within the clinical specialization of orthopedics. This CAATE-accredited residency experience is an excellent opportunity to increase your clinical knowledge and expand your skills while working in a collaborative, hands-on, inter-professional Division 1 environment.
The resident will have access to 1:1 or 2:1 mentorship by content experts in orthopedics throughout the duration of their experience. What you’ll be doing:
· Delivering athletic training services to varsity teams, club teams, and ROTC cadets at Boston University
· Sports specific coverage assignments based upon residency goals
· Providing education and clinical supervision to athletic training students in CAATE-accredited professional athletic training programs
· Assisting physicians in on-campus sports medicine clinics
· Collaborating with Student Health Services providers for orthopedic injuries within the general student population
· Engaging in a rigorous didactic curriculum to expand depth and breadth of knowledge in the area of orthopedics
o Includes opportunities for development within Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Case Presentations, Standardized Patients, Quality Improvement Initiatives, Scientific Writing, Hands-on Labs, etc.
· Disseminating knowledge to peers internally and externally, colleagues, and the general public within the area of orthopedics via scholarship
· Improving patient outcomes and providing efficacious patient care within a collaborative environment
o Includes collaborative experiences with family medicine / sports medicine fellows, DAT and residency programs and fellowships across the country, MSKUS and radiology rotations, surgical observation experiences, and other external clinical opportunities to diversify patient population and specialty specific experiences
· Other duties as assigned by Athletic Training Services
Qualifications:
- · Graduate of a CAATE-accredited (or equivalent) professional athletic training program
- · Master’s degree or other relevant experience
- · Certified and in good standing by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
- · Licensed or license-eligible by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions by start date
- · 1-3 years of clinical practice experience
- · Satisfactory completion of Boston University background check
- · Position must comply with Boston University Occupational Health vaccine requirements
- · Current CPR/ECC Certification

Starting Date:
