    Ball States Professional Masters Program is looking for a new Coordinator of Clinical Education. The official title is Assistant/Associate/Senior Clinical Lecturer OR Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor of Athletic Training and Graduate Athletic Training Coordinator of Clinical Education

    Description: 

    This non-tenure-line position is available August 16, 2024,with possible summer administration and teaching. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising clinical education experiences, teaching athletic training courses, and providing university and professional service. This position reports to the Chair of the School of Kinesiology. 

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    Earned master’s degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited college or university.  

    Three years of experience as a BOC-certified athletic trainer. 

    Experience with administration or teaching in a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited athletic training program (professional or post-professional). 

    Current Board of Certification (BOC) recognition as a Certified Athletic Trainer  

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    Academic doctoral degree in athletic training and/or related field from an accredited college or university.  

    Experience in Athletic Training Program Administration, such as Program Director or Coordinator of Clinical Education. 

    Experience with clinical education. 

    Experience and familiarity with CAATE standards and accreditation requirements. 

    Teaching or clinical expertise in therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation, and urgent and emergent care. 

    Effective administrative and communication skills. 

    Experience in preparation of self-study and/or substantive change for CAATE accreditation. 

    CAATE site visitor. 

    Experience with Typhon or another tracking system to monitor clinical education and student progression.  

    Licensed in the state of Indiana as an athletic trainer (or eligible for licensure)

    Major Responsibilities: 


    1. Lead and direct all aspects of clinical education while collaborating with the Program Director and Core Faculty.  

      Coordinate and instruct all clinical education courses (e.g., AT 670, 671) and course components (e.g., standardized patients, simulations, discussion posts).

      Teach in the graduate athletic training program, preferably content-related, but not limited to,therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation and urgent and emergent care.

      Recruit, select, develop, evaluate, and reappoint appropriately qualified preceptors. 

      Continually establish new local clinical education and clinical immersion sites.  

      Recruit, develop, and evaluate all clinical education sites on an annual, planned basis. This includes ensuring all clinical sites meet minimum requirements (e.g., emergency action plan, safety policies).  

    Minor Responsibilities: 

    1. Participate in regular meetings to maintain communication between athletic training faculty and preceptors. 

    1. Participate in School, College, University, and/or professional service.
