    Position Summary

    The Sports Medicine department within the Intercollegiate Athletics office is seeking an Athletic Trainer for both Softball and Women’s Swim and Dive. As an Athletic Trainer for Omaha Athletics, you will be a member of the Omaha Sports Medicine Department working under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and team physicians to deliver athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams. This position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Associate AD of Athletic Performance with all aspects of the Athletic Training Program, including service/clinical responsibilities.

    *Primarily oversees various sports programs year-round (in-season and off-season). Position requires travel overnight and on weekends.

    Job Duties

    Responsibility Area: Injury prevention, immediate/emergency care, clinical evaluation and diagnosis
    Duties:

    Injury prevention, immediate/emergency care, clinical evaluation and diagnosis (includes acute, chronic, and post-operative care or orthopedic and general medical conditions), making appropriate referrals, practice and event coverage (includes home and away contests in potentially extreme conditions (hot and cold environments)

    Responsibility Area: Treatment and rehabilitation of injuries
    Duties:

    Treatment and rehabilitation of injuries incurred by student-athletes at UNO. Requires experience with non-operative and post-operative conditions. Maintain timely and detailed medical records. Coach and student-athlete education. Knowledge of current modalities utilized in the common and advanced treatment of musculoskeletal and general medical conditions is required.

    Duties:

    Administration includes, but not limited to, assisting with pre-participation physical exams and paperwork, completing insurance claim forms, injury tracking and record keeping, facilities maintenance, athletic training student records and scheduling. Must have good computer skills and experience with injury tracking software.

    Staff are expected to stay up to date with current, evidence-based, and clinical skills in athletic training. This will include attending continuing education events.
