    Responsibilities

    Responsible for daily injury assessment, care, treatment, rehabilitation, and necessary medical referrals for all Men's Basketball athletes.

    Provides medical coverage for all practices, regular season, and post-season home and away games. Responsible for daily operations of the Basketball Training Center and Tucker Civic Center Athletic Training Rooms. Also responsible to coordinate all EMT coverage for Men's and Women's Basketball home games.

    Coordinator for all Graduate Assistant / Intern certified athletic trainers, including recruiting, hiring, and mentorship. Also responsible for drafting the GA/Intern Manual and organizing all orientation for new hires.

    Organize diversity initiatives to enhance ethnic, cultural, and gender diversity amongst athletic training students, staff, and further medical professionals.

    Responsible for sports medicine oversight of 1 certified athletic training intern or graduate assistant assigned to Women's Golf. Also responsible for direct supervision of all undergraduate athletic training students assigned to Men's Basketball.

    Maintain working relationships and open communication with administration, sports medicine director, coaching staff, team physicians, and other outside healthcare professionals.

    Assist the sports medicine director with the formulation and annual updating of the FSU Sports Medicine Policies & Procedures manual.

    Coordinate and oversee medical coverage for all Women's Golf and Track & Field / Cross Country NCAA events hosted in Tallahassee. 

    Responsible for appropriate documentation of student-athlete medical records in Injury Zone and ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, State of Florida, and FSU Sports Medicine policies. 

    Will maintain professional continuing education units and professional credentialing/licensing as outline by the NATA and State of Florida laws.

    Qualifications

    Master's degree and one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and three years  of experience. (Note: Post-high school education may substitute at the comparable rate.)

    Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

    CPR and First Aid Certified, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

    Experience working with NCAA Intercollegiate athletes.
