    Job Description

    The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, assessment, immediate management, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries and conditions as required by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) guidelines and standards.  This position provides quality healthcare services to assigned sports, teams, and/or coverage sites in accordance with sports medicine agreements, including traveling with teams as required. The AT plays an integral role in educating appropriate personnel (i.e., coaches, athletic directors, administrators, officials, etc.) on emergency preparedness, injury prevention, and best practices for the health, care, and well-being of student-athletes, spectators, and staff.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Leisure & Exercise Science Required
    • 1-3 years of collegiate athletic training experience preferred.
    • Certified Athletic Trainer (AT_BOC) Board certification Upon Hire Required.
    • Knowledge of operations of sports medicine programs.
    • Excellent communication skills and customer service.
    • Knowledge of industry best practices and guidelines.
    • Care and prevention of athletic injuries.
    • Knowledge of operations of physician networking and referral management.
    • Comfort in evaluation skills and setting up plan of care and rehabilitation.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to seek and accept direction and clarification from others.
    • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.
    • Possess organizational skills and be able to multi-task effectively.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master’s Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Leisure & Exercise Science Required.
