    Responsibilities

    Responsible for assisting in the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures to assure maximum care and safety in the physical conditioning of student-athletes participating in activities and sports sponsored by Florida State University Intercollegiate Athletics; has specific, direct involvement with Men's & Women's Track and Cross Country programs.

    Coordinate a preventative conditioning program for student-athletes within assigned sport and develop rehabilitative and conditioning therapy for injured athletes. Perform injury assessment/evaluation, administer treatment, and/or provide medical referrals. Assist in planning and monitoring dietary needs of athletes. Assist in supervision of student trainers working with athletes and supervise athletic training coverage for home and away athletic events. Assist with Track & Field and Cross Country summer camps.

    Maintain working relationships with administration, coaching staff, medical professionals within and outside the University, and assist Director of Sports Medicine with oversight of the Athletic Training Graduate Assistant and Interns.

    The yearly updating of the AT Graduate Assistant and Intern Policy and Procedure Manual; supervision of yearly AT graduate assistant and intern orientation programming; oversight and mentoring of the AT Graduate Assistants and Interns and conducting the yearly performance evaluations of the AT Graduate Assistants and Interns.

    Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Sports Medicine budget within the Athletic Department for assigned sport.

    Responsible for safeguarding confidential medical and personal information concerning student-athletes and athletic training students.

    Qualifications

    Master's degree and one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and three years of experience. (Note: higher education may substitute at an equivalent rate.)

    Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

    CPR and First Aid Certified, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

    Experience working with student-athletes for rehabilitative and conditioning therapy.

    Considerations

    This is an A&P position.

    This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

    Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
