    Stony Brook University is looking for a motivated Athletic Trainer to join our team.   Position open for Immediate Hire.  This is a 10 month full time position with full medical benefits. 

    The ideal candidate will have a background in college sports. Stony Brook University is accepting applications to be part of a sports medicine department providing comprehensive health care for the student-athletes competing at the Division I intercollegiate level. The position will report to the Associate AD of Sports Medicine and work under the direction of the Head Team Physician. This is a full time position. Sports to be determined.

    Stony Brook University is located on Long Island in New York State, and is a Division I FCS institution competing in the CAA conference for 16 sports.

    Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Coordination of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injury and illness
    • Maintain timely and accurate medical records
    • Coordinate referrals to team physicians and medical specialists when appropriate
    • Daily operation and maintenance of sports medicine facilities
    • Daily practice, home game coverage, and travel with assigned team
    • Administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine
    • Maintain continuing education according to the requirements of the Board of Certification and the New State
    • Abide by the rules as set forth by both the National Collegiate Athletic Association and CAA conference
