The Athletic Training Department in Boston University’s Student Health Services is recruiting athletic trainers to join our collaborative team of healthcare providers.  Our department provides athletic training services to all students who participate in varsity sports, university-sponsored club sports, and Military Education’s Reserve Officer Training Corps.

What you should know about us:

Our Why: Collaborate to improve the lives of those we work with by advocating for goal-driven and impactful healthcare within our community.

Our department consists of 23 athletic trainers, a physician medical director, 6 team physicians, and an administrative coordinator.  We are grounded in the core competencies of patient-centered care, interprofessional collaborative practice, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, health care informatics, and professionalism.

Athletic Training is one of 5 departments in Student Health Services which also includes Primary Care, Behavioral Medicine, Sexual Assault Response & Prevention, and Health Promotion & Prevention.  We share an electronic medical record among the departments.

We offer competitive salaries that are at or above the average for nearly every comparable category of the NATA Salary Survey, as well as outstanding benefits including paid time off, retirement, health, and dental plans, and annual professional development funding.

We also believe in work-life balance. Our organizational structure (housed in Student Health Services) and medical model approach to coordinating care for the populations we serve provide a supportive work environment that values your well-being as much as your professional achievements.

The Athletic Training Department proudly delivers a CAATE-accredited residency program in orthopedics and a fellowship program in neurology (currently seeking CAATE accreditation).  Our residency program is the first CAATE-accredited residency in the country in the college/university practice setting.  Our fellowship program is the first fellowship in the country from any practice setting to be seeking CAATE accreditation.  We are also a clinical site for students completing CAATE-accredited professional AT programs, as well as for medical students, and medical residents and fellows.
