The University of Dayton's Athletics Department invites qualified applicants to apply for our Athletic Training Intern - Football opening!
The Athletic Trainer Intern will provide and coordinate athletic training services primarily for the football team, maintain records and supplies, assist with the coordination of care with sports medicine physicians and coaches, and will assist in the supervision and management of our athletic training facilities. The athletic trainer intern reports directly to the Manager of Sports Medicine. Other potential sport assignments may be determined on an as needed basis. The UD Athletics Internship program is designed to expose the highly motivated individual to all aspects of a Division I athletic program. Strong performers have the opportunity to be considered for permanent positions within the division if and when they become available. This is a paid, full time, 11-month position with benefits. This internship may require some travel and holiday, evening and weekend work. UD Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA, the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Pioneer Football League. The successful candidate should be able to show demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in appropriate field,
Experienced in providing athletic training services in a multi-sport environment,
NATA B.O.C. certification (in good standing) and an Ohio Athletic Trainers license (or eligible);
Effective written and verbal communication skills,
Valid driver's license, maintains a low risk driving record and is able to be insured by the University.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Master's degree,
Demonstrated successful experience in a Division I intercollegiate multi-sport athletic training program,
Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student-athlete and staff population.
