Defiance College seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Defiance College is affiliated with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and sponsors 20 intercollegiate athletic teams. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in athletic health care management and medical coverage for NCAA sponsored intercollegiate athletic teams and events at Defiance College. The individual will be assigned specific coverage for two intercollegiate teams but will cover other sports and events as needed.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: coverage of practices, games, and events and traveling with teams to provide coverage at off-campus contests; assisting in daily ATR operations, including injury evaluation, emergency treatment, and rehabilitation; recordkeeping and documentation; work with local medical providers and team physicians to coordinate referrals for injuries; and providing counseling and education to student athletes.
Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (master’s preferred), have current BOC certification, be licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio OT/PT/AT, and have previous athletic training experience, preferably in a higher education environment.
