    Description: Primary sport assignments (Football or Men’s Soccer or Women Soccer or Volleyball) Provide first class healthcare to WIU student-athletes; Maintain proper medical records for WIU student-athletes; Coverage of practice, home, and away events as assigned; Treatment/rehabilitation of orthopedic and general medical injuries/illnesses; Refer patients when appropriate to WIU team physicians/student health center; Transport student-athletes to physicians appointments as needed; Keep a WIU Graduate School GPA of 3.0 or better; Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; Other duties as assigned; Ability to travel by air or bus with sport teams; Follow all University and Department policy and procedures

    Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Athletic Training; BOC Certified Athletic Trainer by July 2023; State of Illinois Licensure; Acceptance to WIU Graduate School (requires 3.0 GPA); CPR/AED for the Healthcare Provider; Valid Driver’s License; Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 25lbs. Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time. Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields. Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required by sports schedule; Preferred Qualifications: Experience traveling with a sport team; Desire to work in the collegiate/professional setting as a career choice; BOC certified athletic trainer; Advanced sports knowledge through internship or clinical rotation;
