Description: Pittsburg State University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. Pittsburg State is a Division II school in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and has a staff of 4 full time athletic trainers. Pittsburg State is currently looking to fill this newly created position for the addition of 1 more full time for a total of 5 full time athletic trainers. The approximate start date will be June 11th, 2023.
The positions will provide on-site emergency care, acute injury management, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries, as well as practice and competition coverage for the assigned sports. The possible sports assigned for the position are football/softball or volleyball/softball. Designation to the specific assignment will depend on applicant’s experience, applicant’s preference, and decision of the head athletic trainer.
Other duties such as completing online injury documentation, helping with injury clinics, and preseason concussion testing can and will be assigned as needed.
