    PRIMARY DUTY: The Associate Athletic Trainer – Head Football Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in conducting all activities related to the athletic training facility affiliated with the athletics department at Northwest Missouri State University.              

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1.       Serve as the primary contact/ medical care provider for the football team.

    2.       Manages the total well-being of student-athletes including injury care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation

    3.       Oversee Athletic Training staff directly related to the medical coverage of football

    4.       Direct communication with Head Athletic Trainer, Coaching staff, Strength and Conditioning staff, Team Physicians/ Surgeons,

    5.       Billing for Athletic Training Services, which includes managing the online program by keeping student-athlete medical records up to date, submitting services provided for reimbursement.

    6.       Ensure proper supply, maintenance, and equipment preparedness.

    7.       Maintain accurate medical records for student athletes

    8.       Coordinates insurance claim processing for student-athletes, answers questions regarding insurance coverage and resolves insurance claim problems.

    9.       Coordinates with providers and billing entities to ensure proper filing of insurance (primary and secondary) when services are rendered.

    10.   Supervises practices and competitions as appropriate within the athletics program.

    11.   Assists with program administration including pre-participation screening, insurance claims management, and other appropriate record keeping.

    12.   Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

           Education:                                 Master’s Degree

           Certification/License:              Driver’s license; BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of Missouri or eligible for licensure. BLS Certification.

           Experience:                               Athletic training experience at the collegiate level

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction, Cupping, IASTM (Graston), experience with manual therapies, Mental Health First Aid, QPR Gatekeeper Training, Stop the Bleed.
