    Lamar University is seeking applicants for a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer. Lamar University sponsors 17 varsity sports and competes at the NCAA Division 1 / FCS level as a member of the Southland Athletic Conference. This is a full-time position with benefits package.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Provide medical services to Lamar University student athletes under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
    • Assist team Physician and Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in injury recognition, treatment, rehabilitation, and conditioning of the student-athlete. Accurately maintain all records and reports (physical examinations, injury records, physician notes, treatment & rehabilitation notes, insurance claims, etc.).
    • Supervise graduate assistant athletic trainers as assigned.
    • Serve as a clinical preceptor for graduate and undergraduate level athletic training students.
    • Oversee satellite athletic training facility (soccer/softball complex).
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.

    POSITION INFORMATION

    Primary Sport Coverage: Softball

    Salary: $46,000 + moving expense stipend

    Anticipated Start Date: September 2022

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Athletic Training, or related field/concentration required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer providing health care for intercollegiate and/or professional athletes. Strong organization, administrative and communication skills. Eligible for Texas Athletic Training License. Must have current Board of Certification (BOC) and CPR/AED Certifications. Softball experience preferred but not required.
