Description: : In conjunction with Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, PC, candidates will assist with the supervision and coordination of the University of Northern Iowa’s overall sports medicine and athletic training services in consultation with and under the supervision of the UNI Director of Athletic Training Services/Head Athletic Trainer, team physician(s), CVMS, and other qualified medical personnel; serve as staff athletic trainer for assigned sport(s) by the UNI Director of Athletic Training Services/Head Athletic Trainer in conjunction with UNI College of Education and UNI Athletics; assist with the development and implementation of student athlete welfare and educational programs including but not limited to NCAA drug testing, substance abuse programming, nutritional guidance, and provides instruction and supervision in coursework as part of the University’s Athletic Training Education Program under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Training Education.
This position is full-time. Employee will be a Cedar Valley Medical Specialist, P.C. employee functioning within the UNI Athletic Training arena. Excellent health insurance package, 401K benefit, and profit-sharing opportunities available
Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred; certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers; and Athletic Training licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the State of Iowa required. NCAA Division I experience preferred; experience with manual therapy rehabilitation techniques preferred.
