Prisma Health Orthopedics, formerly Palmetto Health USC Orthopedics, is looking for two Athletic Training Residents.

Our Athletic Training Residency program for certified athletic trainers is designed to help athletic trainers expand their knowledge and diagnosis skills in musculoskeletal evaluation.  We aim for our residents to further their awareness in all aspects of sports medicine and to be able to work in a variety of settings.  We are one of eleven programs in the country accredited by the CAATE. Our past athletic training residents have launched successful careers in athletic training following completion of our program.

Prisma Health Orthopedic Athletic Training Residency Program will provide athletic trainers planned didactic opportunities to include orthopedic morning conferences, anatomy lab/lectures, cadaver lab, journal club meetings, and other research and educational meetings. These meetings will advance the knowledge base of the athletic training profession. The athletic trainer will be able to work side by side with team physicians, treating Division 1, Division II and NAIA  athletes.   They will also be able to treat sports medicine and other complex injuries under physician supervision.

The Prisma Health Orthopedics AT Residency Program aims to provide athletic trainers a broad clinical experience within 12 months (54 weeks), starting in June. The resident will participate in patient care in the physician office and university setting, performing physical examinations, and will assist in surgery. Salary range is $28,500 including medical and dental and PTO benefits, CEU budget, and research budget.  Applications will be accepted December 8, 2020 thru Friday, February 5, 2021.
