    Job Description

    Lamar University (NCAA D1) is seeking applicants for multiple graduate assistant athletic trainer positions for the 2021-2022 academic year. This is a 10-month position that is renewable after the first year based on academic progress and job performance. A full-time graduate school tuition waiver and stipend of $10,000 will be allotted per year as well as professional association and state licensure dues. This position reports directly to the head athletic trainer and assists the sports medicine staff in providing comprehensive health care to Lamar University student athletes. The graduate assistant athletic trainer also acts as a supervisor to undergraduate students in the athletic training apprenticeship program (TX licensure program).

    Available Sport Assignments: Football, W Soccer, Volleyball, Track/Cross Country, Softball

    Start Date: July 10, 2021 – additional month stipend available for June 2021 start date

    Degree Options: Nutrition (online) or Exercise Science (hybrid)

    A separate application to graduate school at Lamar University is required. Final hiring decision of a selected candidate is conditional of acceptance into graduate school. GRE is required unless GPA is above a 3.0. Apply for the graduate school online at www.lamar.edu

    Qualifications

    Baccalaureate degree or entry level master’s degree in Athletic Training

    Licensure as an athletic trainer in the state of Texas upon hiring date; Temporary License is acceptable

    Board of Certification ATC

    Current CPR certification
