    Tiffin University is seeking a full-time Intern Athletic Trainer.  TU is an NCAA Division II institution located in Tiffin, Ohio and is a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC).  This position is designed to serve as a valuable clinical experience for newly certified athletic trainers to gain confidence, experience and to enhance their skills in evaluation, injury management, rehabilitation, and administrative duties.  This is a 10 month position beginning August 1, 2020 and ending May 31, 2021.  Along with a competitive stipend, Tiffin University will reimburse for State Licensure fees, professional organization membership dues, and may also be able to assist with some CEU’s.

    ·         Primary sport assignment will be Football and another sport TBD

    ·         Assist with the organization and supervision of health care delivery to student-athletes under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and the Team Physician;

    ·         Comprehensive documentation of injury evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation sessions for injured athletes;

    ·         Follow prescribed rehabilitation and treatment protocols of team physician when providing care for injured athletes;

    ·         Communicate with team physicians and coaches regarding injured or sick athletes;

    ·         Communicate with strength and conditioning coach regarding injured student-athletes strength and conditioning  limitations associated with their specified injury;

    ·         Coordinate student-athletes evaluations, rehabilitation, and follow-up visits to team physician;

    ·         Coordination of filing insurance claims with Secondary Athletic Insurance.

    ·         Develop and maintain working relationship with Sports Medicine and Athletic Department staff;

    ·         Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.


    ·         Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited ATEP program

    ·         Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with NATABOC (or eligible to sit for the exam in June)

    ·         Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) with State of Ohio Board of OTPTAT (eligible)

    ·         CPR/AED Certification (Professional Rescuer level or higher)


    ·         1 year experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)

    ·         Proficient with Microsoft Office products

    ·         Experience with Manual Therapy

    ·         Experience with IASTM (cupping, Graston, etc…)
