    Under the direction of the Head Team Physicians responsible for the sports medicine needs of Football student-athletes.  Oversees strength coaches.  Communicates with coaches, and administrators concerning football student athlete’s health and wellness.

    • 1)      Coordinate the sports medicine needs of the student-athletes with football.
    • 2)      Responsible for supervision of football athletic trainers and strength and conditioning coaches and their facilities.
    • 3)      Assist Head Team Physicians and Senior Administrator in coordination of employment and evaluations of athletic trainers and strength and conditioning coaches for football
    • 4)      Organize, schedule, and coordinate pre-participation physical examinations.
    • 5)      Prepare timely and accurate documents, e.g., injury/illness reports, care and reconditioning updates, daily athletic training records, injury/illness summaries for coaches, medical and other correspondence.
    • 6)      Properly document injuries as well as treatment and rehabilitation sessions of injured student-athletes.
    • 7)      Utilize evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques when providing health care for student-athletes.
    • 8)      Follow prescribed rehabilitation and treatment protocols of team physicians when providing health care for injured or sick athletes.
    • 9)      Communicate effetely with coaches and team physician regarding injured or sick student-athletes.
    • 10)    Communicate effectively with strength and conditioning coaches regarding the injured student-athlete’s strength and conditioning parameters and limitations associated with injury rehabilitation.
    • 11)    Coordinate student-athlete’s evaluations and treatment follow-ups to physicians.
    • 12)    Maintain NATA-BOC certification and the State of Kansas licensure Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Team Physicians and the Senior Administrator
    • 13)    When requested, Mentor students within the athletic training major and serve as a classroom and/or laboratory instructor.
    • 14)    Adhere to Health System, University, Big 12 Conference, Kansas Athletics, and NCAA policies and procedures.
    • 15)    Maintain knowledge of Health System, departmental activities, sports schedules, and procedures.
    • 16)    Foster cooperative working relationships with fellow staff members within the Department.
    • 17)    Maintain a positive attitude toward performing job duties and in working with other staff members.
    • 18)    Exhibit professional decorum at all times.
