Millersville University Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer (starts Fall 2020)

    The athletic training department as a part of Millersville University Athletics currently seeks to fill the position of Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year assignment beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year and includes a tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and per semester stipend. The appointment is contingent upon applying and admission to the University and maintaining good academic standing.

    • Assist full-time athletic trainers in providing prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
    • Provide athletic training coverage for assigned sports
    • Maintain electronic medical records and other appropriate documentation
    • Communicate regularly with athletic training, strength and conditioning, and coaching staffs
    • Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Strong time management skills and work ethic
    • Ability to work in highly stressful situations/environments
    • Certified athletic trainer credential (ATC)
    • Licensed or eligible for licensure in state of Pennsylvania
    • Ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends
    • Willing to pay for and submit all background checks and clearances
    • Accepted into a Millersville University Graduate Program

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Desire to work clinically as an athletic trainer after completing graduate education
    • Experience utilizing electronic medical record
    • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism
    • Highly motivated, adaptable, willing to take initiative
    • Comfortable working with a diverse student-athlete, coach, and sports medicine staff population
    • Able to work independently as well as in a team environmentAble to work effectively in highly stressful situations
