    ATHLETIC TRAINING SERVICES

    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

    The University of Northern Iowa (UNI), a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and competes in NCAA Division I (Division I FCS in football) has a minimum of THREE (3) position openings for a Graduate Assistantship in Athletic Training. UNI is committed to hiring a diverse staff and actively encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.

    POSITION: At least three (3) GRADUATE ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER POSITIONS

    TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: 10-month appointments, renewable for a second year, start date August 1 2020 through end of Spring 2021 semester (second year Summer 2021 - end of Spring 2022 semester).  Possible summer employment for graduate assistants in June and July on campus. 

    SALARY: Approximately $10,500

    BENEFITS: Tuition waiver

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Graduate Assistants assist the UNI Athletic Training Services full time staff providing the highest level of health care for a diverse population of varsity student-athletes and teams at UNI.  The Graduate Assistants are assigned to specific team coverage, including travel. Specific sport assignments may include: Football (assist with cheer & dance squads), Tennis (assist with Football) and Softball.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Candidates must be eligible for NATA BOC certification. Preference will be given to candidates who are Certified Athletic Trainers.

    2. Successful candidates must be accepted into a graduate college and departmental graduate program at UNI.

    DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: February 28, 2020 or until positions are filled.
