Athletic Trainer/Strength & Conditioning Coach (Endicott College, Beverly, MA)

    As a member of the Endicott Athletic Training staff, duties include care and prevention of athletic injuries, wellness promotion, examination, assessment, diagnosis, immediate care, emergency care, therapeutic intervention, healthcare organization, administration and professional responsibility for all varsity and club athletes. Additionally, in association with the School of Sport and Exercise Science, athletic trainers are required to serve as a clinical instructor for the Athletic Training students enrolled in the CAATE accredited program.  As a member of the Endicott Strength and Conditioning staff duties include design, implementation, evaluation, monitoring and record keeping of in-season and out-of-season team & individual programs that increase strength, improve speed, flexibility, conditioning, agility, and reduce the risk of injury.



    Responsibilities include:


    1. Evaluate athletic injuries and illnesses sustained by a varsity or club student-athlete

    2. Treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries or illnesses, including post-surgical rehabilitation, and refer to other health care professionals as necessary.

    3. Fulfill all administrative duties and documentation required for Athletic Training clinic(s) operation.

    4. Provides athletic training services for all practices and athletic contests hosted by Endicott College. Includes availability of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

    5. Provides coverage of away contests as determined by the NCAA, Athletic Conference(s), and at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer.

    6. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the equipment in the Athletic Training clinic(s).

    7. Provides supervision and clinical instruction for Athletic Training students.

    8. Works with the coaching staff and other Athletic Department personnel to ensure the safety of all facilities, environments, and equipment used for intercollegiate athletics.

    9. Provide a safe environment for athletes with guidance and proper training techniques for all strength training equipment to ensure safe and proper use.  

    10. Educate and instruct student-athletes on proper exercise techniques and appropriate training methods.

    11. Design, document, and implement appropriate strength and conditioning programming for all student-athletes.

    12. Provide coverage of strength and conditioning sessions in the Athletic Performance Center and other athletic facilities, at the discretion of the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.  Includes availability in the early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays.

    13. Evaluate strength, speed, movement, agility, and conditioning of student-athletes.

    14. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the equipment in the Athletic Performance Center.

    15. Serve as a mentor for the graduate assistant for strength and conditioning

    16. Comply with all NCAA, Conference affiliated, Athletic Department, industry, and institutional guidelines, recommendations, and regulations.

    17. The employee will be a person of integrity with high ethical standards that adheres to the NATA Code of Ethics, NSCA Code of Ethics, and institutional guidelines.

    18. Adheres to the state practice act, all NATA, NSCA, and NCAA best practices, and standing orders specified by the team physician.

    19. Provides counseling and education of student-athletes within the scope of practice.

    20. Performs additional duties to meet the needs of the department and the College, as assigned.



    ● Ice Hockey experience preferred

    • Minimum of a Master Degree in Athletic Training or related area.

    ● Possesses national certification from the BOC

    ● Possesses Strength & Conditioning Certification that is accredited by the NCCA; CSCS preferred

    ● Experience with writing strength & conditioning programs and evaluation of student-athletes 

    ● CPR/AED Certification

    ● Additional certifications preferred such as USA-W, NASM-PES, CPR instructor, manual therapies/IASTM, nutrition

    ● NPI number required 

    ● Eligibility for Massachusetts State licensure

    ● Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with college-age students

    ● Experience with clinical and classroom teaching

    ● Possesses the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, work in various environmental conditions, and assist injured individuals on/off playing surfaces.
