    Description: Washington State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Medicine (Assistant Athletic Director). Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Medicine oversees all aspects of health care services provided to WSU student-athletes. This position supervises athletic training services and physical therapy, while also overseeing the Athletic Medicine administrative operations in conjunction with the medical director. This role requires a high level of competence in sports medicine administration, along with a commitment to maintaining an integrated, interdisciplinary health care model.


    Minimum Qualifications: Positions require a bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities, including one (1) year of supervisory or program oversight experience. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations. Must have a valid driver’s license by time of hire. Must have the ability to work nights and weekends. Must have the ability to travel. Must be able to obtain a Washington State Athletic Trainer License in two months from hire date. NATA Certification and Adult CPR, First Aid and AED certification required.

    Preferred Qualifications: Experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively lead and manage a diverse group of health care professionals. Experience providing and coordinating athletic medicine health care services at the NCAA Division I level. Demonstrated work experience with evidence of strong organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with students, coaches, and administrators in a broad range of situations. Work experience that demonstrates excellent report writing skills and the ability to initiate and complete projects with a high level of accuracy and meet specific deadlines. Experience working within electronic health records system(s). Experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a diverse student-athlete population. Work experience that demonstrates genuine concern and interest for the welfare of student-athletes.
