    Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is now accepting applications in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for an Assistant Athletic Trainer.  VCU is a NCAA Division 1 member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating the injury prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation for VCU student-athletes.  The sport assignment will be Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field.

    Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU is required.  Virginia Commonwealth University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.  Women, minorities, veterans and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

     Salary: $40,000-$43,000

    Minimum hiring standards include:

    -Bachelor’s degree;
    -Advanced degree or experience, which equates to an advanced degree;

    -Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and NATABOC certification;

    -A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working within college athletics;

    -Valid driver’s license and ability to drive University vehicles;

    -Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU; and

    -Able to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a multi-tasking environment, with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of the student-athletes.


    Preferred hiring standards include:

    -Experience working with Cross Country and Track & Field within Division I Athletics;

    -Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, which include nights and weekends; and

    -Instructor certification in CPR/First Aid.
