    Indiana University has posted a position vacancy for an Athletic Trainer. This position will serve as an Athletic Trainer primarily with the softball program and oversee athletic training services for cheerleading.

    Responsibilities: Coordinates and administers a comprehensive sports medical program for Softball program and oversees cheerleading. Performs a variety of duties involved with prevention, assessment, and treatment of injuries and refer to team physician and medical consultants, as necessary. The employee will attend practice, training sessions, travel and provide medical care as needed. The employee will provide appropriate record keeping methods for injuries and illness in the electronic medical record, as well as various other operational aspects of the athletic training rooms.

    Note: Position requires incumbent to comply fully with all NCAA, Big Ten (or other conference) and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the National Athletic Trainers Association and State of Indiana Practice Act.


    REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or a related field and two years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer.

    Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) certification, licensed (or eligible for) by the State of Indiana, Professional Rescuer certified and meet the Board of Certification (BOC) minimum continuing education standards. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a customer service orientation and ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals. Strong organizational and management skills.

     PREFERRED: Master’s degree in athletic training or related field. Three years of NCAA Division I experience.
