    The University of Akron has two Assistant Athletic Trainer Vacancies.  The position description is below.  All interested applicants should apply online at:


    The University of Akron, a Division I Institution and member of the Mid-American Conference is accepting applications for two Assistant Athletic Trainer positions.  These positions will likely include coverage for Men’s Basketball and M/W Track & Field.  Final assignments will be determined upon hiring.

    Qualifications:  Master’s degree required.  NATA Certification required.  Requires a minimum of two years of experience of athletic training in a Division I college setting.  Knowledge of human anatomy, exercise physiology and evaluation and rehabilitation techniques required.  Strong communication skills, problem solving skills and computer skills required. 

    Duties and Responsibilities:  Provide athletic training services in the administration of health care to University athletes.  Plan and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.  Maintain comprehensive records of athletic injuries and treatments.  Make referrals to and interact regularly with team physicians and other health care consultants.
