Jacksonville State University, currently a NCAA Division I member joining Conference USA in July of 2023, sponsors 16 intercollegiate athletic programs. Jax State is located in Jacksonville, Alabama between Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA.
The Sports Medicine Department at Jacksonville State University is currently seeking applications for (1) Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Primary sport responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist with the planning, organization, coordination, and management of proper health care to Jax State’s student-athletes. This includes but is not limited to assisting in the operation of the athletic training facility, facilitating prevention programs, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, traveling with assigned athletic teams as well as other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
The Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer position will be a 12-month appointment (renewable for a second year, based upon a performance evaluation by the Head Athletic Trainer). The anticipated start date for the Graduate Assistant position will be June 2023. The position will be open until filled.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in athletic training
- BOC certified or exam eligible
- Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers licensure or licensure eligible
- AED/CPR Certified
