    Creighton University, a Division I institution and member of the Big East Conference, has an opening for a Certified Athletic Training Intern. Anticipated start date for this position is July 25, 2022 and will continue until May 31, 2023. Sport assignment will be assigned by Director of Athletic Medicine.     Duties:                        

    • Attend practices and games of assigned primary sport(s) (home and away)
    • Administrative oversight and home event/post season coverage of assigned secondary sport(s).
    • Coordinate medical referrals to appropriate providers.
    • Maintain medical record keeping, including transcribing dictations of physicians’ notes from Athletic Training Room visits.
    • Communicate daily with head coaches of respective sports regarding health status of players.
    • Develop, implement and supervise rehabilitation programs individualized to specific student-athlete needs
    • Assist in the daily operation of the Athletic Training Rooms
    • Assist with administration of per-participation physicals for all CU student-athletes.
    • Demonstrate awareness and compliance with all NCAA and Big East Conference Big East Conference rules and guidelines regarding medical aspects of sports.
    • Demonstrate awareness and compliance with the policies and procedures of the Athletic Training Department
    • Work with Athletic Performance Staff to develop programs to aid in the prevention of injury
    • Opportunity in the summer to assist with summer camps and providing medical coverage for College World Series
    • Maintain good standing with the NATA BOC and NE state license through continuing education units

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing and eligibility for Nebraska state licensure required.
