    What We Are Looking For

    Baylor is seeking a Direct of Rehabilitation Services with oversight of physical therapy and athletic training services for intercollegiate sports teams under the direction of a Team Physician.  This position reports to Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Medicine.  A Masters degree, five years of relevant work experience in collegiate or professional athletics setting, and an active Christian faith are required.  Ten years relevant experience are preferred.

    The successful candidate must hold a current Physical Therapy License, State Physical Therapy License (Texas licensure eligible), State Athletic Training License, and/or Certified Athletic Trainer.  Additional desired credentials include CSCS, SCS/OCS certification.

    The target start date for this position is January 1, 2022.

    What you Will Do

    Clinical Communication and Clinical Referral

    • Review and communicate utilization of the latest evidence-based techniques and modalities in order to achieve improved outcomes and RTP following injury
    • Coordinate and manage outpatient physical therapy services for student-athletes when indicated
    • Communicate with sports performance staff knowledge of strength and conditioning programs including coordination of group and individualized injury prevention programming
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local physical therapists

    Clinical Management

    • Oversight of rehabilitation for post-operative, post-procedure, and complex injury cases for student-athletes with all sports in conjunction with sport athletic trainer
    • Physical therapy services as needed for all teams

    Clinical Education

    • Assist with staff development and continuing education planning
    • Provide education to patients, coaches, support staff, administrators, and parents
    • Develop annual in-service training for Athletic Medicine Staff
    • Assist with education and oversight of MAT students

    Administrative

    • Review and development of existing and future rehabilitation protocols
    • Assist in development of annual goals for Athletic Medicine Unit
    • Establish metrics for continuous performance improvement and improved patient outcomes
    • Maintain existing support of PT internships and work to develop additional opportunities of collaboration with other PT programs
