    Saint Leo University is a Division II university located just north of Tampa and is part of the Sunshine State Conference. We are seeking applications a full time 10 month athletic trainer. Primary responsibilities for position would include Men’s basketball and Acrobatics and Tumbling. Candidate must be available to work nights and weekends as well as travel with teams. Position to begin 8/2/2021.

    Job Description

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Work under the guidance and supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Director for Sports Medicine.
    • Follow the medical guidelines provided by the Team Physicians
    • Plan, coordinate, organize and manage the daily treatment, rehabilitation and injury evaluations for Saint Leo student-athletes, emphasizing prevention of athletic injuries
    • Maintain accurate and updated documentation of all injuries and general medical incidents using the Sportsware record-keeping system; including initial SOAP notes, daily progress notes, treatment records, rehabilitation programs, and appointment logs
    • Be knowledgeable of and enforce all Saint Leo Sports Medicine/Athletics policies and procedures including but not limited to drug and substance abuse, mental health, concussion management, lightning, heat illness, nutrition and supplements, and catastrophic incidents
    • Be knowledgeable of the medical emergency action plan for all assigned venues and ensure that the appropriate emergency equipment is available at each event
    • Serve as a preceptor for students in the USF Graduate Athletic Training Program. This will require formal training to ensure proper supervision and learning for students
    • Annual dues and continuing education money will be provided.

    • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
    • NATA certification required

    Florida State Licensure eligible
