    Belhaven University, a Christ-centered university located in Jackson, MS, is receiving applications for the role of Director of Sports Medicine (role and scope of Head Athletic Trainer). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to direct a successful, competitive NCAA Division III sports medicine program, grounded in student athlete care and well being. Belhaven is an NCAA Division III institution sponsoring seventeen sports programs and holding conference membership in the American Southwest Conference (ASC). 

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will work under the leadership of the Associate Director of Athletics to carry out responsibilities related to the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; supervise a staff of three; use and implement therapeutic exercise program and therapeutic modalities; oversee student-athlete insurance processes and work with local health care providers; maintain complete medical records in accordance with HIPPA; supervise and mentor clinical students; and adhere to NATA and state laws of practice related to athletic training and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of three to five years of collegiate athletic training experience, preferably in a supervisory position. Graduate of a CAATE program; BOC certified; eligible for state of Mississippi licensure; CPR/AED certified. Effective verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated capacity for accuracy and organization; sound interpersonal skills in working with student-athletes, parents, Departmental and University personnel; the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
