Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer--The University of South Dakota

                  The University of South Dakota Sports Medicine department is seeking qualified applicants for Graduate Assistant openings for the 2021-2022 academic year. The University of South Dakota is an NCAA Division I FCS institution located in Vermillion, South Dakota. The USD Athletics department is comprised of 18 athletic programs competing in both the Missouri Valley (Football) and Summit League athletic conferences.

    Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: direct patient care (evaluation, screening, rehabilitation, appropriate referral to physician) under the supervision of certified full-time athletic trainer; maintaining accurate and current medical records for assigned teams; supervision of work-study or practicum students; travel with designated team; assistance with daily athletic training facility duties as assigned by direct supervisor.  

    These positions are 2-year contracts, renewable after the first year based on performance evaluation by The University of South Dakota Sports Medicine Staff. Contracts may be extended for pursuit of doctoral degree at discretion of the head athletic trainer.
