Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is now accepting applications in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer. VCU is a NCAA Division 1 member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating the injury prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation for VCU student-athletes. The sport assignment will be Track and Field.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU is required. Salary: $40,000-$43,000
Minimum hiring standards include:
-Bachelor’s degree;
-Two (2) years’ experience working within collegiate athletics;
-Valid driver’s license and ability to drive University vehicles;
-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU;
-Able to work independently, as well as part of a team in a multi-tasking environment, with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of the student-athletes
Preferred hiring standards include:
-Experience working with Cross Country and Track & Field within Division I Athletics;
-Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, which include nights and weekends;
-Advanced degree or experience, which equates to an advanced degree; and
-Instructor certification in CPR/First Aid.
