Intern Athletic Trainer

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking qualified candidates for Certified Intern Athletic Trainer. The position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine.

Responsibilities

• ·       Assists the Assoc. Director for Sports Medicine-FB with the provision of athletic training services during the Fall Football Season
• ·       Assists the Asst. Director Sports Medicine-TRK with the provision of athletic training services during the Spring Indoor/Outdoor Track/Field Season
• ·       Assists the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine with the provision of athletic training services including prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for 16 intercollegiate sports and spirit Squads
• ·       Assist the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine in the supervision of the Athletic Training Room
• ·       Assist with yearly student athlete physical exams and testing
• ·       Provide first aid and emergency care for athletic related injuries
• ·       Provides coverage for home and away events
• ·       Assist with Medical and Insurance record keeping
• ·       Assist with maintaining inventory and supplies
• ·       Supervising of athletic training students
• ·       Compliance with all NCAA, Sunbelt Conference and institutional rules
• ·       Assist in other duties as assigned by the Asst AD/Sports Medicine

Requirements

• ·       Bachelor’s degree (Master preferred) from a regionally accredited institution
• ·       Current NATABOC certification
• ·       Current CPR/AED certification
• ·       Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training Licensure (or eligible for licensure)

Yearly Stipend: $30,000
