    Position:      Assistant Athletic Trainer

    Department:       University Athletics

    Reports to:        Sports Medicine Director & Director of Athletics

    Responsibilities:  

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting the Director of Sports Medicine in all aspects of the Sports Medicine Department including evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, documentation of athletic injuries, supervision, and teaching of students in the Athletic Training program, and providing on-site coverage for athletic teams as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.  The successful candidate will provide possible coverage to some of the following sports: Men’s soccer, volleyball, swimming and diving, track and field, tennis, and baseball.    

    Qualifications:  


    The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master's preferred and he or she must be BOC certified.  Must be willing to supervise and teach athletic training students. Ability to work as part of a team environment. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to and ability to work with a diverse student population. An understanding of and commitment to the mission of a Christian college is required. Must meet university lifestyle expectations.

    About the University:

    Anderson University is an NCAA DIII university located in Anderson, Indiana.  Anderson is a city of about 54,000 people and the university has a student population of about 1,200 students with an athlete population of about 450 student-athletes.  Anderson has 20 men’s and women’s sports including football, soccer, basketball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse. 

    The city of Anderson is located in East Central Indiana, about 45 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, 30 minutes from Fishers and Noblesville, just over 3 hours from downtown Chicago, and 2 hours from downtown Cincinnati. 

    The athletic training facility is housed in the Bill and Gloria Gaither Sports Medicine Center located in the Kardatzke Wellness Center, a 132,000 sq. ft. facility providing programming for health, recreation, and wellness in all forms-spiritual, emotional, physical, and social.  The Bill and Gloria Gaither Sports Medicine Center is a 4,000 sq. ft. space that houses 5 athletic trainers, a physician’s office, locker rooms for staff, and an extensive hydrotherapy area, in addition to a 450 sq. ft. dedicated taping area. 

    Benefits:   This is a 10-month, full-time position. Eligible for university benefits, including health and life insurance, HSA, 403B, and remitted tuition for the employee and family members.
