    Lamar University is seeking applicants for a full time Associate Athletic Trainer. Lamar University sponsors 17 varsity sports and competes at the NCAA Division 1 / FCS level as a member of the Western Athletic Conference. Full benefits package includes health insurance premium paid at 100% for university employees as well as optional plans for vision and dental insurance.  

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide medical services to Lamar University student athletes under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
    • Assist team Physician and Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in injury recognition, treatment, rehabilitation, and conditioning of the student-athlete. Accurately maintain all records and reports (physical examinations, injury records, physician notes, treatment & rehabilitation notes, insurance claims, etc.).
    • Supervise graduate assistant athletic trainers as assigned.
    • Serve as a clinical preceptor for graduate and undergraduate level athletic training students.
    • Assist in policy & procedure updates in accordance with NCAA recommendations.
    • Assist with departmental inventory and supply ordering.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.

    POSITION INFORMATION

    Primary Sport Coverage: Football

    Salary: $45,000 - $55,000

    Anticipated Start Date: July 2022

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Athletic Training, or related field/concentration required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer providing health care for intercollegiate and/or professional football athletes. Strong organization, administrative and communication skills. Eligible for Texas Athletic Training License. Must have current Board of Certification (BOC) and CPR/AED Certifications.
