    Kennesaw State University is located approximately 35 miles north of Atlanta, GA.  The University has approximately 40,000 students. Athletically KSU competes at the NCAA division I level in the ASUN conference.  KSU athletic association supports 17 intercollegiate sports. 

    Kennesaw State University Sports Medicine seeks two (2) Certified Intern Athletic Trainer for immediate hire to provide comprehensive health care for student athletes.  The position is responsible to adhere to University policy and procedures, as well as Kennesaw State University Sports Medicine's mission.  The position is fully benefited, with a stipend of roughly $21,000.  One year appointment with a targeted start date of 7/1/22.  Sport assignments include: Football and Softball.

    Intern Athletic Trainer job description

    1. Reports to the Associate AD for health and human performance or staff designee.
    2. Responsible for the overall prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and daily health care for Kennesaw State University student athletes. 
    3. Assists with all NCAA required pre-participation physical examinations for KSU student athletes to be medically cleared for participation, as well as examinations to return to practice or participation.  This includes and may require consultation with licensed medical professionals.
    4. Assist the Associate AD for health and human performance in serving as a liaison with licensed medical professionals who assist in providing care to KSU student athletes i.e. Team physicians, Team Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, Nutritionist etc.  This would include organizing on site visits, game coverage and overseeing all student athlete referrals for assigned athletic programs.
    5. Assists in all KSU and NCAA required testing procedures for drugs, restricted substances etc. These tests may occur at any time during the 12 month calendar, even when student athletes are not on campus
    6. Responsible for providing athletic training services to assigned sport programs as designated by the Associate AD for health and human performance. sport assignments: Football (FCS), and Softball.
    7. Serves as a Clinical preceptor to athletic training students.
    8. Responsible for maintaining NATA certification and State of Georgia Athletic Training Licensure.
    9. Responsible for maintaining First aid and CPR/AED certifications.
    10. Ability to work closely with respective coaching staffs and Sports Performance staff.
    11. Responsible for completion of medical documentation of athletically related injuries, and completion of secondary insurance claim forms.
